Fire Forces Hotel Evacuation: About 500 guests and employees at the Hilton Hotel in Irvine were evacuated briefly Sunday afternoon after a fire started in a third-floor room, authorities said. No one was injured in the blaze, which broke out at 12:52 p.m. and caused an estimated $1,500 damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation, county fire officials said.
