Fullerton : Help Asked in Finding Person Who Set Fire

Share

Fullerton firefighters are asking for help in finding the person responsible for a Jan. 12 fire in the 1900 block of Avenida del Ossa that caused $70,000 damages.

The initial investigation showed that the blaze was triggered by a parachute flare--similar to those used as distress signals--that landed on the wood-shingle roof of the home of Kenneth E. Gallette, authorities said.

A portion of a flare was found in the charred remains, Fire Inspector Tom Thompson said.

The fire occurred about 2 a.m., but no injuries were reported. Thompson said the police had received reports that other flares had been sighted in the same area shortly before the blaze began.
