BASHING ‘PURPLE’

“The Color Purple” deserves high credits for its acting. Its script, however, could have been written by the staunchest of feminists. I saw not one male in the film, neither black nor white, with a single redeeming quality.
Things were bad back then, but weren’t there at least a few good men, of either race? I know an adversary role is important for scripts, but an entire gender?
