Women’s College Basketball : Titans Beaten by Pacific, 62-58

The University of the Pacific remained undefeated at home with a 62-58 victory over Cal State Fullerton in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. womens’ basketball game at the Alex G. Spanos Center in Stockton.

Senior forward Janet Whitney had 18 points and 9 rebounds and sophomore center Gretchen Meinhardt added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the Tigers, who are 2-4 in the PCAA and 8-11 overall. Pacific is 4-0 this season at the UOP Main Gym and 1-0 at the Spanos Center.

Robin Holmes led the Titans (4-4, 6-13) with 16 points. Laura Satorius added 11 points and 9 rebounds.

In other PCAA action:

UC Irvine 53, UC Santa Barbara 49--Junior forward Nadiea Burks scored 20 points and had 7 rebounds to lead the Anteaters past the Gauchos at Irvine. Burks took control of the game with a little more than seven minutes left when she scored eight straight points to erase a four-point Santa Barbara lead. The Anteaters are 4-3 in the PCAA and 12-8 overall.
