Linebacker Pete McLachlan of Carson High School gave a verbal commitment Sunday to play football for USC, one of three players from the City 4-A runner-up to announce their college intentions.
Carson quarterback Marc Walters said he will attend Colorado, while tight end Wendell Keller said he will sign with Grambling.
Meanwhile, quarterback/running back Leon Otis of Locke High, one of the most versatile players in the city, returned from a visit to Nebraska and said he will play for the Cornhuskers.
Colorado also was the choice of another local player, linebacker Lamarr Gray of Pomona.
