HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER : Westlake Win Keeps Royal From Playoffs
The Westlake High boys team defeated Royal, 1-0, preventing the Highlanders from qualifying for the playoffs Thursday.
Wally Androski’s goal in the first half was enough to give Westlake (12-5-4 overall and 7-3-2 in league) the win. Westlake, which has qualified for the playoffs, finished second in the Marmonte league.
Chaminade (girls) 4, Notre Dame 0--Amy Miller scored two goals to lead Chaminade. Julie Herbst and Jennifer Eikenmeyer each scored a goal for the Eagles.
Chaminade (13-4-1 overall, and 12-0 in league), ranked ninth in Southern Section 2-A competition, captured the Sunshine League Title.
Notre Dame (8-5-1 overall, and 7-4-1 in league) finished third in the Sunshine League.
