Mater Dei Goes After 54th Consecutive Win

The Mater Dei High School boys’ basketball team could surpass the second-longest winning streak in CIF Southern Section history today, when the Monarchs play Servite at 2 p.m. at Chapman College.

Mater Dei (9-0, 24-0) has won 53 consecutive games over the past two seasons, tying the record set by Compton from 1951-53. The longest winning streak, 66 games, is also held by Compton, from 1968-70.
