USIU Hockey Team Wins 20th Game

SAN DIEGO — United States International University’s hockey team set a record for wins in a season Saturday night, beating St. Thomas College of St. Paul, Minn., 5-2.
USIU’s Doug Hannesson led the Gulls with two goals and Jeff Dobbek’s score gave him a record 56 goals this season. Don Davis scored 55 goals in the 1979-80 season.
USIU finished at 20-13, rebounding from last year’s 7-23-2 record. The 20 wins were the highest victory total for the USIU hockey team since joining Division I.
