Nearly $53 million worth of freeway projects were approved by the California Transportation Commission, including an $18.6-million interchange in San Diego County on California 52 and Interstate 15, a $13.8-million expressway section in the Sierra Nevada foothills, and $4.23 million to reconstruct the roadway in Los Angeles from the Elmgrove ramp to the Los Angeles River bridge on Interstate 5. A total of 37 projects were approved by the commission at its meeting in Santa Clara.
