Bobby Chacon, former World Boxing Council featherweight champion, repeatedly violated parole stemming from a wife-beating charge and faces a year in jail, a judge in Oroville, Calif., ruled.

Justice Court Judge Brian Rix set sentencing for March 10.

At the end of a two-day hearing, Rix ruled that Chacon, 34, violated six of seven parole provisions imposed after his November, 1984, no-contest plea to a misdemeanor wife-beating charge.

Chacon spent 10 days in jail and was placed on a three-year probation on condition he abstain from alcohol and drugs, refrain from entering taverns, not use drugs and complete 400 hours of community service, among other conditions.
