The Clippers Treated Walton With Kid Gloves

The big difference between Larry Bird and the rest of the NBA (Magic Johnson, etc.) is that Bird has great games every night (four triple doubles in five recent games). I think Bird's ability to turn the spectacular into the norm has gone unnoticed by one person in this world--L.A.-loyal Scott Ostler

It's funny isn't it. The Lakers beat Philadelphia by 34 points without Magic. They then beat Philly by four points in overtime with Magic. I'll have to agree with Ostler, the difference, indeed, was Magic.
