Southern Section Basketball Playoffs : Muir Reaches 4-A Title Game by Beating Dominguez, 58-56

Center Stacey Augmon scored 32 points and had 12 rebounds to lead Pasadena Muir High School into the Southern Section 4-A championship game with a 58-56 win over Compton Dominguez Wednesday night at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Muir (27-2) will meet Simi Valley in the final Saturday.
Muir led, 31-26, at halftime, but Dominguez outscored the Mustangs,14-9, in the third quarter, tying the score, 50-50. Muir then opened up an eight-point lead behind 14 points by Augmon, five coming on free throws.
Dominguez (22-6), upset second-seeded Santa Monica in the quarterfinals.
At Ontario High, senior guard Donald English scored 28 points, and Kevin Cutler added 23 points and 12 rebounds as Ganesha of Pomona survived a 32-point performance by Kevin Walker to beat Brea-Olinda, 95-77, and advance to the 3-A final against Hacienda Heights Wilson.
Ronald English added 18 points, and Oliver Cunningham had 8 assists for Ganesha (28-1).
