Schlitz, Schmidt Lead Chapman to Sweep

Eric Schlitz had 16 kills and Ben Schmidt added 15 as Chapman College defeated Azusa Pacific, 15-9, 15-12, 15-11, in a nonconference volleyball match Wednesday at the Hutton Sports Center in Orange. Chapman is 2-15 and Azusa Pacific is 3-5.

In other men’s volleyball action:

Golden West 3, La Verne 0--The Rustlers swept La Verne, 15-9, 15-5, 15-1, in a South Coast Conference match at Golden West. Sophomore outside hitters Dave Ross (16 kills, 8 blocks) and Scott Garmon (13 kills, 5 blocks) led Golden West (2-0, 1-0).
