San Diego Prep Baseball : Bonita Vista Beats Escondido in Warhawk Tournament, 10-5

SAN DIEGO — The Bonita Vista High School baseball team scored three times in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Barons went on to a 10-5 win over Escondido Saturday in the Warhawk tournament.
Jerry Foncerrada’s single drove in three runs in the four-run seventh inning. Teddy Earhardt had three stolen bases, and Foncerrada had two of the Barons’ nine stolen bases.
Doug Piper was 2 for 4 with a double for Bonita Vista (3-0). David Woodhouse (1-0) struck out five in four innings. Escondido (1-2) committed six errors.
In other Warhawk tournament action:
Vista 5, Kearny 1--Tony Trousset’s two-run double in the fourth helped the Panthers put away the Komets. Starting pitcher Roger Price (2-0) struck out nine in five innings to gain the win.
GMC TOURNAMENT
Sweetwater 4, Marian 3--Pitcher Eddie Magdaleno went 2 for 3 with a double to help earn his first victory at Sweetwater High. Sean Baldi’s single drove in Manny DeLeon and Ricky Martinez to put the Red Devils ahead for good. Sweetwater had five hits.

TOURNAMENT
San Pasqual 3, Torrey Pines 2--Darren Dunn drove in two runs, including the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh for the Eagles (1-1). With the bases loaded and the infield in, Dunn hit a single to deep center to break a 2-2 tie. Kelly Simpson (1-0) pitched the last inning for the win. Both teams had five hits.
Orange Glen 14, El Camino 6--Orange Glen scored 10 runs in the top of the fifth to defeat the Wildcats. Glen Reyes was 2 for 3 with four RBIs, including a fifth-inning, three-run double. Winning pitcher David Miller allowed four hits and struck out six in four innings.

TOURNAMENT
Chula Vista 10, San Marcos 3--The Spartans scored three times in the first and then cruised to victory. Victor Ocequeda was 2 for 2 with two RBIs and Jay Mercado went 2 for 4 for the Spartans, who had 12 hits. Brian Murphy (1-0) was the winner.
