The state Department of Food and Agriculture has reopened the border to Mexican citrus fruit after a three-week ban. The ban was imposed Feb. 24 after Mexican fruit fly larvae were discovered in a box of oranges at the department’s inspection station in Blythe. It was lifted after federal agriculture officials agreed to provide additional help inspecting Mexican fruit shipments.
