27 Million-Dollar Horses Die in Fire

CAMDEN, S.C. —
A fire raced through the wooden stables of a horse farm near this historic horse-breeding town, killing 27 young thoroughbred racehorses worth an average of $1 million each, authorities said today.
The blaze started late Tuesday night and roared through the two-story stabling area at the Festoon Horse Farm.
