Wednesday’s 91 Degrees Is a Record for the Date

Wednesday was the hottest March 26 on record in Los Angeles.
The National Weather Service said the temperature at Civic Center reached 91 degrees between noon and 1 p.m.--which was two points above the previous record of 89 degrees, set in 1978.
Meteorologists said today could be a record-breaker, too.
The high mark for March 27 is just 88 degrees, and forecasters said weather conditions aren’t going to change that much overnight, despite low clouds and fog that are expected to hug the coastline during morning hours.
Meteorologists explained that Southern California’s weather is currently dominated by a high-pressure area over the central Rockies, but said an upper-level storm system developing to the southwest should make things a bit cooler by Friday or Saturday.
