Fire Leaves 100 Homeless
Four people were injured and more than 100 residents were left temporarily homeless after a fire at a Glendale apartment house this morning, fire officials said.
Firefighters used ladders to rescue 25 residents from the upper floors of the four-story apartment building at 228 So. Kenwood St., Glendale Battalion Chief David Starr said. The fire was contained at 8 a.m. by 60 Glendale firefighters, about an hour after the first call was received. The fire is believed to have started in a fourth-floor apartment and spread to the attic of the 32-unit building.
