Orange County Prep Baseball : Tustin Stays Unbeaten, Surico Hurls No-Hitter

Senior left-hander Steve Surico (3-0) pitched a no-hitter Friday, as Tustin High School won the first game of a doubleheader over Serra, 7-0, in Gardena. Surico walked three in the first three innings, but retired the last 12 batters. He finished with 11 strikeouts.
The Tillers (9-0) scored six runs in the top of the seventh to tie and one in the eighth to win the second game, 7-6. Winning pitcher Chris Floth (4-0) also had the winning hit, a single that scored Mike Anderson from third.
In nonleague action:
Westminster 8-10, University 3-0--Junior John Gonzalez (5-0) pitched the the Lions to the first of two wins over the Trojans (4-9). Dan Villegas was 2 for 3, scored two runs and had two RBIs for Westminster (9-2). Al Rodriguez was 2 for 4 with two RBIs also for the Lions.
In the second game, freshman Ryan Klosko (3-1) gave up one hit and struck out five in four innings for the win. John Tazza was 2 for 4, scored three runs and had four RBIs. Rodriguez was 3 for 4, with two triples and two RBIs.
In Loara Tournament makeup action:
Ocean View 11, Marina 2--Mike Fyhrie was 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and four RBIs to lead the Seahawks (6-3-1) over the Vikings (4-7) at Ocean View. Junior Brent Knackert (1-0) got the win.
Edison 9, Huntington Beach 7--Bernie Colacchio was 4 for 4 with two doubles and five RBIs for the Chargers (8-4).
