Overcast skies were expected to greet Easter worshipers this morning at sunrise services in the Southland.

Easter celebrations Saturday, including Easter egg hunts at the Boys Club of East County in El Cajon, Horton Plaza and Seaport Village in San Diego, Grape Day Park in Escondido, John Landes Park in Oceanside and Kellog Park at La Jolla Shores, were marked by warm, balmy weather. The high temperature at San Diego’s Lindbergh Field was 71 degrees.
Around Los Angeles, good air quality was expected, ending a spell of unusually heavy smog.
Air Quality Management District officials said this month was the smoggiest March for Los Angeles since 1974. Five first-stage smog alerts--when the air is considered unhealthful--were called in the month, they said.
