Police are investigating the shooting of a woman as she walked her dog early Tuesday. There are no suspects in the case, police said.
Dorothy Bubenas, 59, and a companion were walking the dog in the 7100 block of Linden Terrace about 4:30 a.m. when someone shot Bubenas once in the upper torso, a police spokeswoman said.
Bubenas was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, where she was listed in critical condition, a spokesman said.
Bubenas’ roommate, Wayne Anderson, 56, was arrested in connection with the shooting but was later released, the police spokeswoman said.
No weapon has been found, nor any motive established, she said.
