Monterey Park : Manibog to Become Mayor
Councilman G. Monty Manibog will take office as mayor of Monterey Park, succeeding Rudy Peralta, in a ceremony at 7:30 p.m. April 15 at City Hall. Manibog was elected to the council in 1976 and has twice served as mayor, an office that is rotated among council members. Each council term of four years includes 9 1/2 months as mayor. Manibog was born in the Philippines and grew up in Hawaii. He began practicing law in 1961 and has lived in Monterey Park for 25 years.
