La Mesa : 2 Suspects Shot by La Mesa Police
Two suspects in an armed robbery were shot and wounded during a confrontation with police late Friday.
Police were summoned the scene of the robbery in the 5000 block of Mary Fellows Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. The shooting occurred nearby in the 7200 block of Magruder Street.
Although details were not immediately available, a La Mesa police spokesman said the incident involved the taking of hostages.
Police said that in addition to the two wounded suspects, a third suspect was arrested. Neither the hostages nor any police officers were injured, police said.
The condition of the wounded suspects, who were evacuated by a Life Flight helicopter, was not immediately known.
