Lincoln Gets a One-Hitter

SAN DIEGO — Lincoln High School’s Trez Hodges and Keith Mitchell combined to throw a one-hitter Saturday, as the Hornets beat host St. Augustine, 8-1, in a City Central League baseball game.
Hodges, pitching in his first game of the season, threw the first 3 innings before trading positions with center fielder Mitchell. The only St. Augustine hit came in the third inning off Hodges.
The Hornets (2-4 in league, 10-8 overall) scored three runs in the third inning behind Anthony Johnson’s two-run single and a Mitchell sacrifice fly, which scored Johnson. Hodges was 3 for 3, including two triples and two RBIs. St. Augustine is 1-5 and 4-11.
