A 17-year-old Yorba Linda boy riding a moped was killed when he was struck broadside by a van traveling southbound on Yorba Ranch Road in Yorba Linda, Brea police said. Greg Anthony Villobos was crossing Yorba Ranch Road eastbound at Jacaranda Lane when he was struck by a van driven by Robert Ray Goodale, 20, also of Yorba Linda, Lt. Bill Lentini said. Goodale was booked on suspicion of manslaughter but released pending further investigation, Lentini said. There were conflicting reports about whether Goodale was speeding and whether the victim had stopped at a stop sign before attempting to cross the street, Lentini said.
