San Onofre
A worker at the San Onofre nuclear power plant received minor injuries when a sniper fired several shots at him through the windshield of his truck Monday night, a power company spokesman said.
Richard McDonald, a contract maintenance employee for Catalytic Inc., was driving his truck on plant property between 10 and 11 p.m. Monday when several shots were fired, shattering his windshield and injuring him with flying glass, Southern California Edison spokesman David Barron said.
The shooting occurred near a warehouse about one mile from the main power station and did not cause any damage to the two-reactor seaside facility, said Barron.
There are no suspects and the case is being investigated by the FBI, he said.
