Rod Laver and Ken Rosewall will headline...
Rod Laver and Ken Rosewall will headline an all-foreign field in the Mutual Benefit Companies Grand Masters’ tennis tournament being sponsored by the Los Angeles Times at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on the UCLA campus.
The tournament will begin Friday at 7 p.m., with Fred Stolle of Australia against Ramanathan Krishnan of India, followed by Rosewall playing 1960 Wimbledon champion Neale Fraser of Australia. On Saturday at 1 p.m., Mal Anderson of Australia will play Andres Gimeno of Spain, followed by Laver against Marty Mulligan of Australia.
The semifinals will be Sunday, with the final on Monday at 7 p.m.
