North County : Chino Park Entrance to Close Temporarily

Share

The only vehicle entrance to Chino Hills State Park will be closed on weekdays beginning Monday and ending May 30 because of water main construction in San Bernardino County, park officials announced this week.

For weekend access to the state’s largest urban park, the entrance road through Bane Canyon will remain open Fridays between 4 and 5 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors may still hike, bicycle or ride horses into the park through Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea, or from the Green River meadow area north of the Riverside Freeway in Santa Ana Canyon.

The park entrance road passes south through Bane Canyon from Pomona Rincon Road off the Corona Expressway (California 71), between Chino and Corona. Beginning June 1, it will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For park information, call (714) 597-1541.
