Starting May 5, the Mexican government will step up security measures at seven airports in preparation for the World Cup soccer tournament.
More police officers will patrol the airports at Guadalajara, Monterrey, Cancun, Merida, Mazatlan, Leon and Mexico City.
The World Cup tournament, which is the major sports event for Europe and Latin America, will start May 31 and end June 29.
