John and Bo Derek’s “Eve and That Damned Apple” has bit the dust--but supposedly not because of Moral Majority pressure, as claimed by a trade columnist. The pic is off simply “because we decided not to do it,” said Bo. She said that she and John got the idea for “Eve” about five years ago, but “pictures and audiences and everything else can change during that much time.”

She sees no reason why it couldn’t be reborn as a project: “Our script is based on Mark Twain’s story (“The Diary of Adam and Eve”), so it’s got a lot of sweet humor. I seriously think even members of the Moral Majority would like it. And I know God would be pleased. Because I think of him as being very sweet.”
