The Tragedy at Central Library
The destructive fire at the historic Central Library in downtown Los Angeles makes me feel that there is nothing sadder than seeing the end of an era going up in flames. In my mind, this tragedy can be summed up in one word: Why?
Although the structure was known to be sub-code, someone took his or her eye off the fire possibilities for a split second and disaster struck.
I loved that old building and its contents and I’m going to miss it, sorely.
