Local News in Brief : N. Hollywood Woman, 34, Apparently Slain
A 34-year-old woman was found dead by her husband Wednesday morning in a hot tub behind her North Hollywood home. She apparently was slain, Los Angeles police said.
Lt. Ron LaRue said there was “obvious trauma” to the body of the woman, Heidi Katlan Scarbrough, but no immediate signs that she was stabbed or shot. He said the cause of death will not be known until an autopsy is conducted.
The woman was discovered about 7 a.m. by her husband, Ron Scarbrough, 33, when he returned to their home in the 3800 block of Ridgemoor Drive after spending the night with friends, LaRue said.
There was “some ransacking of the house,” LaRue said, indicating she may have been killed during a robbery.
LaRue said investigators have no suspects.
