Four Indicted in Arson
A fire at the Pants Corner clothing store in Torrance last year resulted in the indictment of four Los Angeles-area men on charges of arson and mail fraud.
The federal grand jury indictment, returned in Los Angeles, named Jihad Akleh, 42, half owner and operator of the store; his brother, Issa Aqleh; their nephew, Hazen Aqleh, 22, and Roland D. Brown, 30.
They are accused of trying to defraud the West American Insurance Co. of more than $250,000, federal officials said Wednesday.
