Local News in Brief : Fire Causes $200,000 Loss at Savings Bank
A fire of undetermined origin early Saturday caused $200,000 damage to a San Fernando savings and loan institution, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The blaze at the Camino Real Savings & Loan Assn. on south San Fernando Mission Boulevard began at 3:12 a.m. and was extinguished about 40 minutes later, said Greg Acevedo, department spokesman. Damage to the structure was estimated at $100,000, and the value of the lost contents at $100,000, Acevedo said.
There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
