Associated Press
BLOOMFIELD, N.J. —
A double-decker bus carrying gamblers to Atlantic City crashed into a railroad trestle Sunday, shearing off the top of the vehicle and killing one person and injuring about a dozen others, police said.
The driver tried to drive the bus, which is 13 feet 6 inches tall, under a trestle with a clearance of 11 feet 8 inches, police said.
Officer Catherine Sherman said she did not know if any charges had been filed against the bus driver or if the driver was injured.
