60 Offices, 24 Issues on the Ballot
Candidates for 60 public offices, along with 24 propositions, will be on the ballot when San Diego County voters go to the polls in Tuesday’s primary.
Ray Ortiz, the county’s voter registrar, has projected a 58% turnout among the county’s 1,050,519 registered voters, about 6% higher than the local turnout in the last statewide election four years ago.
In addition to the 60 federal, state and local races on the ballot, local Republicans and Democrats also will elect members to their respective county central committees.
The polls throughout San Diego County will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Regional absentee voting centers will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday at five locations--the registrar’s office in Kearny Mesa, and courthouses in the South Bay, East County, North County and downtown San Diego.
Voters uncertain of where to vote or who experience other Election Day problems can contact the registrar’s office at 565-5800.
