Top High School Golfers to Compete in CIF-SoCal Championships Today
The top individual prep golfers and teams from the Southern, City, Central and San Diego sections compete today in the CIF-Southern California Golf Assn. championships at Lakeside Country Club in Toluca Lake.
The top five teams and 25 individuals from each sectional championship have qualified for the tournament, which was won in 1985 by Palm Springs’ O.D. Vincent, while the team title went to Dana Hills.
Vincent, Southern Section individual champion Bob May, and Esperanza’s Jason Bittick are contenders for the individual championship.
Westlake got low scoring from its No. 4, 5 and 6 players to win the Southern Section championship in late May and is favored for the team title at Lakeside.
