Bulls Will Decline Dailey’s Option
The Chicago Bulls announced Tuesday they will not pick up the Aug. 1 option clause on guard Quintin Dailey’s contract, which will allow him to become a free agent.
However, they retained the right of first refusal when Dailey signs an offer sheet with another club in the National Basketball Assn.
Dailey entered a drug rehabilitation center last Friday and was suspended without pay. He has not returned to the team.
The Bulls also announced the signing of guard Calvin Duncan and center-forward Mike Brown to contracts.
Duncan, 6-3, was a second-round pick out of Virginia Commonwealth in 1985 but opted to play with Athletes in Action. Brown, 6-9, was a third-round choice out of George Washington and played in Italy last season.
