Share

Television runs the gamut from Vladimir Horowitz to Bob Dylan this weekend, with an update on the situation in South Africa and a new comedy series filling the space between those extremes.

Horowitz, a renowned pianist, is featured in a repeat broadcast of CBS’ “Sunday Morning” on Sunday at 8 a.m. (Channels 2 and 8). This is the acclaimed show from April 20 in which Horowitz performed in Moscow for the first time since leaving his native Soviet Union 61 years ago.

Rock star Dylan performs in “Bob Dylan in Concert” on Home Box Office tonight at 10. The program, taped in Sydney, Australia, features highlights from Dylan’s current tour with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

“This Week With David Brinkley” will look into the ongoing unrest in South Africa at 11 a.m. Sunday (Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42). Among the guests will be Chester Crocker, assistant secretary of state for African affairs, and Louis Nel, South Africa’s deputy minister of information.

In an effort to brighten its rerun-dominated summer schedule, NBC is introducing a new comedy series at 9:30 tonight, “Me and Mrs. C,” on Channels 4, 36, 39. (Please see review elsewhere on this page.)
