INSECURITY IN BEV HILLS

Share

From the producers of “Beverly Hills Cop” comes . . . “Beverly Hills Security Guard”!

Sort of. In the first draft script for the long-awaited “B.H. Cop II” (to shoot this fall), Axel (Eddie Murphy) goes undercover (unofficially) as a Beverly Hills rent-a-cop.

It’s to help out old chums Rosewood and Taggart (Judge Reinhold, John Ashton), who stumble on a plot involving a security service that burgles. The boss is a bigwig businessman named Lawrence--but actually he’s Tony Lulu, one-time Detroit waterfront hood.

Flanked by a pair of muscle-bound bodyguards (blond surfer Cutback and handsome Latin Romeo), Lawrence has dealings with lotsa VIPs--including the ambitious mayor of Beverly Hills.

The script, by Bud Shrake and Dan Jenkins, includes lots of comedy (there’s a recurring joke about a man whose Rolls-Royce keeps getting hit; the man is described as looking like Aaron Spelling!) and even romance between Axel and “fellow” security guard Lucy Wilson, who’s “in her early 20s, cute, shapely, feisty, dedicated to law and order.”

Oh--and Axel’s dialogue is replete with lots of four-letter words. In his opening scene, he speaks but two sentences--and uses his favorite 12-letter expletive four times. But, like we said, this is only an early draft. Stay tuned.
