Pasadena : $79-Million Budget OKd

Share

The Pasadena Board of City Directors has approved a $79-million operating budget for 1986-87. The budget originally proposed by City Manager Donald F. McIntyre was $76.3 million, a figure that was increased by revised revenue estimates and unused funds from last year.

Directors also trimmed $633,000 from the budget by cutting spending in several departments, including the city manager’s office, the Planning Department and the personnel office. The largest single chunk of the budget goes to the Police Department, which receives $17 million, or 22%.

Mayor John Crowley and Director Rick Cole had met with city staff members last week to discuss possible trims. Their recommendations were presented to the full board, which approved the budget Monday, one day before the close of the fiscal year.
