Valley Dodgers Reach Final, Play for Series Berth
Former Cal State Northridge All-Americans Mike Solomon and Perry Husband combined for six hits and seven runs batted in Saturday to lead the Valley Dodgers to a 15-11 victory over the Ventura County Royals in the California Southern Section tournament at Ventura College.
The teams meet today at 11 a.m. in the tournament final. If the Dodgers (12-4) lose to Ventura, a second game would follow to determine the winner of the double-elimination qualifying tournament.
The winner earns a berth in the National Baseball Congress World Series at Wichita, Kan., in August.
