A man who hung onto the side of a van trying to wrest the steering wheel away from the driver in an apparent robbery attempt was killed when the van crashed into a light standard in Montebello. Chris Molina, 24, of Los Angeles, died instantly when the van smashed into the light pole in the 500 block of East Olympic Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol said. The investigation of the incident was incomplete, but authorities believe Molina was trying to rob the driver and his passenger.
