The Region : Five Killed in Highway Crash of 3 Cars
Five people were killed and one person suffered minor injuries in a three-car crash on California 41 near Cholame in northern San Luis Obispo County, the California Highway Patrol reported. The crash occurred when a westbound car driven by an unidentified woman attempted to pass another vehicle and collided with an eastbound car driven by Kyong-Sik Chon, 26, of Paso Robles. Both died in the accident. Chon’s three passengers, Yong Nak Chon, 54; Hwa-Suk Chon, 47, and Hye-Kyong Chon, 23, also died in the crash. A third eastbound car hit both vehicles. Its driver, Jerry Lee Beasley, 52, of Coalinga, was not seriously hurt.
