Jackson Triples, Extends Hit Streak to 7 Games

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Kansas City Royals prospect Bo Jackson went 1 for 3 in the Memphis Chicks’ 18-3 Southern League loss to the Knoxville Blue Jays Saturday night, extending his hitting streak to seven games.
Jackson, the Heisman Trophy winner from Auburn and the No. 1 choice in the NFL draft who chose to play professional baseball, tripled home a run in the ninth and later scored. He had walked and struck out swinging twice in his two previous at-bats.
Jackson, who struggled in his first 12 games, is 9 for 23 (.391) in his last 7, with 3 homers and 11 RBIs.
In 19 Double-A games, Jackson is 13 for 68 (.191) with 3 doubles, 2 triples, 3 homers and 12 RBIs. He has struck out 32 times.
