Share

UCLA Extension is sponsoring a September tour to Japan and China to study approaches to gerontology issues. The tour, which will be Sept. 9 through 28, is designed for professionals, researchers and teachers. It will focus on two cultures whose traditions of extended family care of older people is in transition.

Participants will visit centers for the aging and will meet with clinicians and research scientists. The instructor will be James Birren, who recently retired as dean of USC’s Andrus Gerontology Center. The cost for the trip, including enrollment, transportation, meals and accomodations, is $4,105.
