A fire at United States International University in San Diego caused an estimated $1 million in damage to the two-story administration building, officials said. The building, which houses the registrar’s and president’s offices, suffered extensive structural damage. About 25 computer terminals, some records and several works of Chinese and Korean art were destroyed in the blaze, Dean Leon Sinder said. Student records were not damaged. It took 50 firefighters more than an hour to extinguish the fire.
