Thirty-two children were evacuated from a school camp and Angeles Crest Highway was temporarily closed as a brush fire burned more than 110 acres in the Angeles National Forest, about two miles north of Mt. Wilson. About 230 firefighters used airplanes and helicopters to fight the blaze but were hampered by rugged terrain and heavy brush that has not burned since the 1900s. The children and 21 adults were evacuated from Camp High Hill. The fire started near Valley Forge Campground at about 11:20 a.m. and containment was expected by 6 a.m. today.
