The San Diego Fire Department has confirmed that Sunday night’s blaze at the United States International University administration building in Scripps Ranch was accidental and electrical in origin, Det. Charlie Inot said.
Arson has been ruled out as a cause for the fire, which caused $1 million in damage, Inot said.
“We believe that the origin was in an overhead lighting system between the ceiling of the first floor and the second floor,” he said.
