Man Slain by Officers in El Cajon
A man who reportedly was armed with a knife was shot and killed Tuesday night during a confrontation with El Cajon police officers, police reported.
The officers were dispatched to a disturbance call in the 300 block of Millar Avenue about about 8:30 p.m., Lt. Randy Narramore said.
When the officers, who were not identified, arrived on the scene they were confronted by the knife-wielding man, who was shot twice as he advanced menacingly at them, Narramore said.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was taken by Lifeflight helicopter to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
